Almost December

There is much excitement in our house as December nears.  There are birthdays, holiday parties, cookies to be baked, Christmas trees to decorate, lights to be hung, Christmas cards to be mailed and received, Christmas movies to be watched and re-watched, and Christmas music to be played on repeat.  It is my favorite time of the year.  Today we are baking pecan pies for Thanksgiving with the extended Santos family.  The kids, as always, were part of the pie making process.  It's taken us all morning, but we made two crusts and pies from scratch.  At one point, Berkley and Nan took a break to make a baby fort in the dining room.  Oh - and this morning Berkley nearly screamed with joy when he heard he didn't have to go to school!  The first thing he asked, "can we wear pjs all day?"  You know it, son.
