Berkley tripped over a table at Sabot and fell face forward into a wooden chair. His nose hit the wooden slat on the top of the chair. He screamed out, and when he removed his hand from his face his teacher knew they needed to call 911. The EMT came and stopped the bleeding. There was a major wound between his eyes at the top of his nose and the nose bone was exposed. His daddy, Nan and I came to school and rode to St. Mary's. Kate met us at the hospital and took Nan. Berkley had a CT scan and nothing was broken, but the doctor wanted to call a plastic surgeon to consult. When the surgeon arrived, she decided we needed to put him under with anesthesia because it would take her 20-30 minutes to sew him up. Berkley was so calm throughout the entire process. He was so brave and I was so proud of him. The only time he cried was as he was coming out of anesthesia and wanted to go home and see "nannie mae." He was very ready to be home and watch Toy Story on repeat. I am so thankful that he is ok and that he felt safe and cared for at Sabot when he fell and that the staff and doctors at St. Mary's were so skilled and thoughtful. Thank you to Kate for caring for Nan and to Emily for visiting Berkley. Thank you to the rest of you who offered to help. We have the best Richmond family!
Other happenings include caroling with church, sorting in our new sand box, and visiting the lights downtown. Ready for a relaxing weekend and then we are going home for Christmas!!!!!
