First weekend on Shirley

A great first weekend on Shirley Road... running, playing, crushing acorns, collecting acorns, walks to the river, a special boy's first birthday party, gimlets, naps, football...  Wish it wasn't ending.  B leaves for California today and will be gone until next weekend.  Goes without saying that we'll be counting down the minutes until his return.  Pics from this a.m.

4232 Shirley Road

We've spent 5 nights thus far on Shirley Road.  It is already a great house and our journey has just begun.  Unpacking is definitely more fun than packing.  The kids love the space.  Life is good.  Thanks to Karen, Victor, Carter, Mom & Dad for all their help during our move in weekend.  We couldn't have done it without them. Also, thanks to our wonderful friends who brought meals, invited the kids over to play, and came by to help unpack a box.  We love you guys!

Just closed on Shirley Road.
We brought the kids over for a few hours to run around.
Nan happy as ever in her new room.

We love playing outside!

There is so much to explore!

One more week

Next week we move!  The family has moved from the sad/I can't believe we are leaving our home to... excited/we are moving to a new house!  We are pumped and I can't wait to get settled, rid of our boxes, and move on to more fun things like play dates in our new house.

Berkley starts 'back to school' stuff this week.  This morning he met all the children in his preschool class at a  play date at the school park.  There were donuts.  Everyone was excited.  Berkley was especially excited to get to ride over to the park in the stroller of his buddy.  15 minutes prior to their arrival - Berks insisted on waiting outside.  It was sweet.  Sweet that he is so happy to see his friends.  Sweet that he can't wait for school to start.  Sweet that he is a confident child who feels safe enough with my friends to go ahead without me.  Berkley is growing up!  When we see our buddies or even when we encounter new friends - say at Kroger... he tells them about his new house.  I think he is ready too.  He is ready for a play room, to unpack his toys and 'bake cookies in my new kitchen.'  Tmrw Berkley has a 1/2 day at school to meet his teachers.  Next week school starts!  I never thought I'd be a mom who was excited for school to start, but I am.  Mostly because Berkley is so excited.
